Why you should avoid soda as your beverage
Here is essentially what happens in your body when you drink regular soda.
Within the first 10 minutes, approximately 10 teaspoons of sugar enter your system. This calculates to 100 percent of your recommended daily intake. The only reason you do not vomit from this overwhelming sweetness is because the soda contains phosphoric acid which cuts the flavor.
Within 20 minutes, your blood sugar spikes. Your liver then responds to the resulting insulin burst by turning massive amounts of sugar into fat.
Within 40 minutes, the caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dilate, your blood pressure rises and your liver dumps more sugar into your bloodstream.
Around 45 minutes, your body increases dopamine production, which activates the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically similar to the identical response of your body reacting to a drug.
After 60 minutes, you will start to have a sugar crash.
So start today and make a healthy lifestyle change. Drink water instead of soda. It is much better for you!
